On Monday 25th February 2013 Mr Trimble held an assembly and revealed project ERGOTRON!
ERGOTRON is a little black box with a breathing blue flashing light and was placed at the front of assembly this week. The children and staff have been waiting a few weeks to find out what project ERGOTRON is. The wait is finally over! The school has invested in twenty two iPad minis for the children to use.
ERGOTRON is just a shell, he is a charging and syncing unit for the iPads. The children are very excited about the new technology we have in school and are very eager to get their hands on it.
Here at Larwood we are committed to harnessing technology to improve our children's learning progress. Using laptops and notebooks has showed us how mobile technology can raise attainment and imrove motivation for learning in the school.
The children have already made a list of educational apps they would like on the devices for class educational purposes and a list of apps they can use during their 'down time', breaks and activities etc.
Mr Trimble the Headteacher is already looking to expand the number of iPads we have later on in the year.
